work in India – India is, after China, the worlds largest
producer of fruit and vegetables but these have featured very little
in sucessful exports from India. One of the principal factors inhibiting
these exports is the structure of farming and land ownership. Now
BSFT is involved in two projects which recognise the problems and
are providing solutions which under more encouraging government controls
which increasingly recognise the need to promote Indian exports should
see these gherkins and more tropical fruits in overseas markets
soon.
